One of the Handiest Tools I Have Ever Owned

I have been a technician for about 35 years now, and over the years I have had your jumper packs. The first one I ever bought lasted me over six years, which at the time was unheard of because there were a lot of other manufacturers trying their hand at this market and the failure rate was huge. There is nothing worse than a dead vehicle AND a dead jumper pack! I have owned your competitor’s compact, high amp, supposed to be all that jumper pack only to find it gave up in less than a year and a half. Over priced and a big disappointment!

So your jumper pack has been a mainstay for me, especially for the last 14 years while owning my own shop. With the day-to-day, week in, week out, need to jump start vehicles of all sizes and amp draws, it never fails to perform. I knew I had the right jumper when I had a Ford F-250 7.3 diesel that was stone dead. These engines require an enormous amount of amps to turn them over. Others at my shop scoffed when I attached your jumper pack to one of the dual batteries, but they were silent when that engine whirled over and started without so much as a hiccup! No towing that one on that day!

You’ve heard the old saying: “Never leave home without it”… well, I never take a trip without my jumper pack. It’s like an old friend that I can count on to be there when I’m in a jam and no one else is around to lend a hand. This new model JNC660 is so convenient to re-charge, plus with the built in volt meter, I can do so many on the spot diagnosis that it has earned its place as one of the handiest tools I have ever owned! No word of a lie: I can’t picture being without it!

Grade A Investment

I purchased a Christie PDQ wheel charger many years ago for our repair shop in Central Minnesota. During the snowy frigid winter months, the battery service side of our business really picks up, as the cold knocks down the batteries in some of our customers’ vehicles.

Year after year, battery after dead battery, the PDQ never seems to take a day off. It has been used, abused, left outside, and even backed into by our plow truck. To this day, the Christie PDQ allows us to rapidly charge and test batteries for our customers faster than any other method, so we can get them back in their cars and down the road FAST. This ability sets us apart from our competition. A Christie charger is one of the best equipment investments we have ever made.

VIPER AF3400 Earns Honors for Going Green

In previous years (before I started working here the FIRST time), the Lead Mechanic thought if 50/50 green antifreeze was good, then straight 100% would stop any rust/scale build up in the cooling system completely. Now, I have started working here a second time AS the Lead Mechanic. Due to changing times, going GREENER (not antifreeze), new model school buses are equipped with Extended Life Coolant. I was approached by my supervisor with the question of converting all equipment to the ELC and what did we need to do it?

I looked at probably just about all the different ways to pull out all that old antifreeze, flush the systems, check the systems, and reservice. That led to the VIPER AF3400. It seemed easy to operate (and it is). It would flush/reverse flush the systems. It will also leak check with vacuum or fill and pressurize. This unit seemed to do everything we needed (and it does). One big plus is with the larger systems (school buses) it is capable of emptying the processing tank through the filtration system right into a 55 gallon drum.

So long story short, the VIPER AF3400 works. It has no problem handling the straight 100% green antifreeze. It allows us to recover, check, reservice from the new tank with ELC, and recycle the old. Plus the new tank can be filled from the new drum of coolant with the machine, no mess pouring from bucket to machine, pumping into the machine, etc. The VIPER AF3400 is an excellent machine for us. Thank You.

The Tech Support people were excellent also (there was no problem with the machine just the operator).

Once again, Thank You. Gary K. Saxon, California

JNCAIR – Multifunctional Dependability

I have owned your JNCAIR for many years now with no regrets. It has a powerful air compressor with a battery that keeps up. I have used the unit to power everything from emergency lighting during a power outage to filling up an ambulance tire to jump starting vehicles.

Its most impressive use was jump starting a 2000 Mercedes Benz S class. There are no jumping points under the hood on this vehicle. The owner only had a valet key and could not open the trunk to get access to the battery (the trunk is motorized). The JNCAIR comes with a thick male to male cigarette lighter adapter cord used to recharge the unit. I simply plugged one end of the cord into the JNCAIR and the other end into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter port (I had previously shut off as many accessories as possible). I quickly pushed the trunk release, providing access to the battery, enabling me to jump start the Mercedes.

This product is well engineered and manufactured. I am especially fond of the clamps that are directly wired on BOTH sides of each clamp. The connection to the battery is critical for a successful jump start and it is one of the key reasons this unit has never let me down.

JNC660 to the Rescue!

A neighbor called me one day last summer. Her husband utilizes a wheel chair and had recently been ill. As a result, they had not used their wheel chair accessible van for a few weeks. Their front porch allows them to pull the van next to the porch and manually open the sliding door to lower the van’s wheelchair ramp onto the porch.

That day, after locking the wheel chair into the locking mechanism inside the van, it was discovered the van’s battery was dead.  The wheel chair mechanism locks when the chair enters it and can only be unlocked electronically. Consequently, the husband was locked into the chair and could not be removed through the passenger door because the van was parked next to the porch – the door could not be opened.

I had jumper cables in my car, but they were not long enough to reach the front of the van due to how it was positioned in the driveway. So, we had no way to power the van to release the wheel chair lock. The situation was remedied when a technician arrived with a JNC660.  In a matter of seconds, the van was started and the locking mechanism was released.

My neighbor inquired about the device that the technician used and they purchased their own Jump-N-Carry for peace of mind.

Booster PAC Saves the Day!

Booster PAC Saves the Day

I am the Club President for our local amateur radio club, K7EFA. We have radio repeaters in some rather high places around our community. The highest is at 9000 feet above sea level at a local ski facility. Members and myself make numerous trips to these repeater sites to maintain the repeater systems and either open them up for the summer or close them up in the winter to keep the snow and cold out.

A recent trip to the mountain top site was last winter, during the third week of October. We already had 2 feet of snow to plow through to get within walking distance of the site and had to carry test equipment about a 1/4 mile to the site. One of our members wanted to take all of us in his older vehicle. We thought that would be great and it wasn’t until we were ready to leave that the vehicle’s battery was dead.

We were at 9000 feet in the forest and all of the ski mountain employees had left for the day. If we needed someone to come and help us, someone needed to walk down about two miles to the gate to open the gate to let them in. So that was not a good idea, as most of us are 50-60 years old and it was getting dark outside. Good thing for LED flashlights.

I always bring my hand held fully charged Booster PAC ES5000 with me when I venture in the high country. It saved the day for us and saved us a lot of walking downhill through the snow. Everyone was impressed how well it worked. I have even connected radios to it for temporary emergency power for emergency communications. Best jump starter I have ever purchased. The other guys thought I would not need the ES5000, but we did need it and it saved the day. What a wonderful product.

This weekend I will be headed back to the same repeater site and guess what I will have with me? My trusty ES5000.
Just in case. LOL.

Trouble Free Vacation?

Trouble Free Vacation?

I was looking forward to a trouble free vacation with the family at our secluded cottage on the shores of Lake Huron, in northern Michigan. It was dead of winter with blizzard conditions and temperatures approximately 0 degrees.
———-
For two weeks we did not have to start the eight year old truck with its eight year old battery in my Ford F150 big V8 until it was time to go home.
———-
That morning at 5 am — knowing that I had a three hour drive and appointment to get back to my job at 8 am — I hit the key and nothing!
———-
IMAGINE the feeling!
———-
The battery was dead as a doornail with no service garages open within 20 miles that we could call.
———-
But imagine my relief when I remembered I had stored behind the back seat for 3 months my Clore Automotive JNC660 1700 Peak Amp Jump Starter. I was quite anxious worrying, wondering if it would get me out of this MESS. Would I get back to work on time?
———-
I should have known within a few seconds of hooking it up — “BAM”. We were on our way.
———-
My wife knew I was not too smart for not replacing the battery sooner, but the children thought dad was a genius!

Back On The Water — Thanks To Jump-N-Carry!

Back On The Water - A Clore Story

We were looking for a jump starter in general. Size was not that important for us in the first place, more the performance aspects of a unit. However, in the process of buying a small boat, size and weight suddenly mattered.

After reading mainly positive reviews on different websites, forums and blogs about the  JNC300XL, we decided to purchase one of those units to see if it works as well as said.

We liked the size and simplicity right away, we charged and maintained the unit exactly as described and went shopping for a boat.

We found a small one; we were told the battery was about 4 to 5 years old. In addition, the battery was too small for the big engine the boat had.

On several occasions, especially when warm, we drained the battery after only 5 or 6 starting attempts.

The JNC300XL Ultra-Portable Jump Starter fit easily behind the rear seat on the boat. We took it out a few times during the day to give our large 6-cylinder outboard a jump. The JNC300XL performed excellently and got us started every single time.

It gives us peace of mind having this unit on our boat. You can pull over on the side of the street, but not with a boat. We know that we can get the motor running and make it back safe to shore, thanks to the JNC300XL.

Aged Tractors Sometimes Need Help

Big Red - Clore Story about the power of the Booster PAC ES5000I help out at a farm in Massachusetts, and we have many rather aged tractors that sometimes need help to get started. I was introduced to the Booster PAC ES5000 early on, and it has made the difference between working and not working.

One of my main tractors that I use is an old International with a six cylinder diesel engine.  Due to problems with the charging system, the batteries are flat all the time. Over the last three years that Booster PAC has been the main “battery” for that tractor, and I use it all the time to start it up.

This year for Christmas my son decided to buy me a Booster PAC of my own and told me to go find one.  The one I looked for is the one with enough power to get that big tractor running–I have a shiny new ES5000!

Part of my job as a police officer includes . . .

February 23, 2011 by

Part of my job as a police officer includes being responsible for a police impound yard. The cars we get range from abandoned on city streets to cars used in felony level crimes. Sometimes it takes years for criminal cases to be completed, and we end up keeping cars in secure storage for months on end. At some point, we sell the unclaimed cars at auction and need to get them cleaned up and started in order to be moved.

Of course, all these cars have dead batteries from being idle for so long, so we use our Booster PAC to start them. Some cars need to be cranked and cranked for extended periods just to get them going, and the Booster PAC has never failed us. We have dropped this booster, charged and discharged it many times over the three years we have owned it, and it’s still preforming well. (We used to use a cheapo brand that we purchased at a local home improvement store . . . that lasted about one day!)

You think we use it for just the impound lot? No. All the electronics, computers, and radios in police cars put batteries up to the test. Occasionally, something is left turned on inside the car, causing the battery to loose power over several hours. When it comes time for the car to start, the battery is dead. We keep this same Booster PAC in the police garage to start cars needed in an emergency when we don’t have time to connect a charger up to it.

But, our best test has been a Ford F-250 we keep outside in winters here in Minnesota. The battery was dead last week during a cold snap. The Booster PAC started the big V-8 engine even when the temperatures were below zero. I have nothing bad to say about these products. They work extremely well for us. THANKS.
